Curiosities

A solo exhibition at Phopa Gallery in Portland, Maine, 2014.

Curiosities features black and white images through which Harbert explores humans’ interventions on the landscape, whether it is built, simply arranged, or altered. Harbert uses a plastic “Diana” camera, made in the 1960’s, to capture and distort his subject matter, evoking qualities of the surreal, the solitary, and the not-quite-ordinary.
